Notarized translations in most cases (accomplished) translations have to undergo notarial certification. The translator’s signature authenticity is certified by a notary (Notary certifies translator’s signature authenticity). It is obligatory to put the translation together with the original, copy, or certified copy of the document.
All translations done by our translators are certified by Moscow notaries.
A lot of people ask if they have to be present personally during the notarial certification of the translation of personal documents. Of course, they don’t. The notary authenticates the translator’s signature; he does not identify and certify the personality of the document’s owner in that certain case. We also have an opportunity to certify translations without original documents. It’s enough to send a scanned copy.
The process of foreign passports certification also often becomes the object of interest. In Russia the notary can not certify the copy of foreign passports, only the Russian translation is notarized (the translator’s signature). Therefore it is not necessary to present the original documents, the copy is enough.
